Using the ProTrak GPS for Live Vehicle Tracking

Any person who owns a vehicle knows how important it is to track them. After all, the vehicle is one of the largest investments you can ever make. With all the work and sacrifices that you do to obtain the vehicle, you may want to obtain a powerful vehicle GPS live tracking device like the ProTrak.

The ProTral GPS is a real time GPS tracking device designed for vehicle tracking. This system basically employs a GPS satellite technology when tracking a vehicle. It also uses a cellular technology to transmit the information to you live.

How Does the ProTrak Work?

As stated above, the ProTrak is a GPS live tracking system that uses GPS satellites. The signals of these satellites are said to be continually broadcasted from an orbit of 20,000 miles and ProTrak GPS receives those signals to calculate the vehicle’s location. The ProTrak GPS, on its most basic, is consists of a GPS receiver and a cellular modem which is usually fastened to the target vehicle. This GPS live tracking system also has a “puck” antenna attaches to the underside of the bumper cover with a magnet.

According to the proponents of this GPS live tracking device, the power of ProTrak is supplied by directly connecting the unit to the vehicle’s power or by a field replaceable battery packs which will power the system for approximately 5 days. However, in order to save power, the ProTrack GPS live tracking unit can be programmed to “go to sleep” and only awake when the control center calls. If the battery power is utilized, this GPS live tracking system can be programmed to stay awake at all times, and that offers you a chance to continuously track the target vehicle if needed.

Features of ProTrak GPS

The PtoTrak GPS live tracking system features the following:

* GPS live vehicle tracking over the cellular telephone network.
* Manual or automatic activation and dial-out to anywhere.
* Dial-in mode for vehicle tracking and control.
* Fully integrated single vendor hardware or software system.
* Automatic display of vehicles on an easy to read GPS maps.
* Doesn’t need any infrastructure. Just a personal computer and a base station modem.

Aside from those above mentioned wonderful features, the ProTrak GPS live tracking system also includes a vehicle tracking unit with antennas, host modem with cables, as well as a software package with maps of the United States on CD-ROM. Note that this final feature is not yet available in many countries. The manufacturer of this powerful GPS live tracking system made it available only in Canada.

With all those great features, it’s no wonder that ProTrak GPS allow you to locate the position of your target anytime and anywhere.
